Finally the temperature is rising and Spring is in the air. The stores are already filled with the new season’s latest fashion and just because you’re pregnant or breastfeeding doesn’t mean you should miss out on all the fun!

A leading trend for the new season is the dress – think soft, flowing styles that will take you through pregnancy, breastfeeding and beyond. The ever classic and popular wrap dress is perfect for maternity wear and will become a versatile wardrobe staple. Look for styles in soft stretchy fabrics and basic colours that can be easily dressed-up or down. The wrap neckline is also great for easy and discreet breastfeeding.

Go Princess Mary...

It's good to see that royalty are just like the rest of us. I was reading a newspaper article today about Denmark's Princess Mary in New York. She has 5 month old daughter Isabella with her who she is still breastfeeding. Go Mary! It's great to see a royal role model for breastfeeding. She said she was up very early in the morning going for walks with the baby. Kinda makes me pleased that royalty also suffer from sleep deprivation like the rest of us!

I wonder if she wears breastfeeding tops? Hmmmm. Maybe she needs some new Nuvo designs!

MIA for awhile...

It's been awhile since the last post so I thought it's time to get this blog happening again! Things have been really busy at Nuvo Maternity and we've just launched our first range of nursing wear designs! Our first three designs: stylish wrap, funky hoodie, sport polo are currently available for pre-order and the response has been great. Stock is available for delivery at the end of October. Helping mums to breastfeed

This article that appeared in The Courier Mail 27 March 2007 (click picture to view) is an interesting read on some of the reasons women stop breastfeeding early. A parliamentary inquiry in breastfeeding is examining these reasons as the inquiry was told the health benefits of mother's milk could save millions of dollars. Some of the major reasons for stopping early were a lack of support, lack of information and sense that breastfeeding is frowned upon in public.

What do you think? It raises some important issue for breastfeeding mums.

To address some of this issues, in the next few months here at Nuvo Maternity, we will be including more support information for mothers, tips for feeding in public and real-life stories of breastfeeding mums. We want to support women and help increase the rates of mothers breastfeeding exclusively for at least 6 months.
